In RA i only bring Holy Veil (most of the time) because you wont find many hexes there. The few times you do run into a mesmer or necro that gives you or your team trouble, veil tends to be fine with a 12s recharge. Not fast enough to keep Spoil Victor or Reaper's Mark off permanently, but by then your team will hopefully get around to killing or shutting him down. In RA, I run a build identical to the one JYX posted and yes, I have trouble with teams of 2/3 hex characters, especially when you throw a shadow prison assassin or thumper/derv into the mix. I try to get the nastier hexes (removing one SV as it lands on a teammate helps a lot.) and keep the main targets pre-veiled (myself, most valuable dmg character, depending on what the other team is doing) Reapers Mark isn't a huge problem, ZB/GoH will take care of most of degen there. I'm interested in hearing the opinions of whether or not its worth it on a ZBprot monk (in RA(/TA)) to sacrifice self defense skills for improved utility (hex removal these days)
I agree with Effigy on Spirit Bond/Prot. Spirit. There aren't too many cases when RoF or SoA wont prevent more than half as much damage as SB/PS for half the cost. SF eles are common, yes...remove MarkofR if they have it, RoF and/or dismiss/mend condition also counter SF nicely.
In RA I believe you'll get a lot more mileage out of Gift then Spirit Bond.
